A cross-disciplinary approach to making work is a vital aspect of my practice. My engagement with other disciplines - poetry, creative writing, neuroscience, astronomy, sound design - has allowed me to develop a unique perspective toward the creative process. My experimentation has produced work that falls into a number of categories; however, more and more I want to work with motion graphic design.
I work professionally in New York City as an editor and motion graphics designer for Macy's Inc., while also freelancing as a web and graphic designer. In 2008, I participated as a motion designer in Divide Light, an opera that was performed at Montalvo Arts Center (Saratoga, California) in 2008 and screened at the Anthology Film Archives (NY, NY) in 2009.
Most recently, my work was accepted to the 2009 Up-and-Coming International Film Festival in Hannover, Germany. This is my second piece to be accepted to the festival. A recent collaboration with sound artist Chester Udell has been accepted to the Electroacoustic Juke Joint (Cleveland, Mississippi) and the Regional Society for Composers Inc. conference at University of North Carolina Greensboro.
I received my MFA (2008) in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts located in New York City. I currently live and work in New York City.
