Area 17, 17.48, digital video, 2009
Area 17 is an experiential document of the visual pathway. The piece follows light as it enters the eyes, travels through the optic nerve, and is then processed in the visual cortex. The piece attempts to activate a physical experience of sight and is rooted in the scientific study of David Hubel and Torsten Wiesel. The piece was recently accepted to the Up-And-Coming Festival in Hannover, Germany.
