Permanent Magenta, You Ate My Pink, 7.45, digital video, 2006
Permanent Magenta is an exploration of poetic language, particularily the subtlties of meaning and context. The voice over is derived from an original roundelet, a 7-line poem with a strict syllabic structure. The poem was translated and retranslated in order to challenge the rigid syllabic pattern. This piece also dealt with my interest in extending the boundaries of the digital video image - purposely manipulating exposure, focus, and movement to create vivid and tactile images for the viewer to explore.
